Campaign

The Campaign for the Zanesville Art Center Building on Traditions of Excellence
In the autumn of 2000 the Zanesville Art Center began a campaign to raise $3,000,000 for a comprehensive renovation and expansion project.  The campaign was successfully completed in March 2006.
The impetus for this endeavor was the gift by Charles Gorsuch of his deceased wife, Shirley’s wonderful collection of 611 Madame Alexander dolls and a sizeable contribution to create housing for them.
This gift inspired the Board of Trustees to expand that project which enhanced the center by:

  • Nearly doubling the gallery space
  • Providing more than double the existing classroom and educational space
  • Enlarging and upgrading the auditorium
  • Adding a catering kitchen
  • Doubling the size of the Art Research Library
  • Creating a state-of-the-art collection storage and care facility
  • Enabling upgrades to the wiring, and to the security and climate control systems.

For Now and in the Future
Improvements will always continue.  Three galleries have been revitalized and redesigned.  Several spaces in the Art Center are still available for sponsorship, and we would like to continue to develop the landscaping and gardens around the building.

To further explore the ways in which you may participate, please contact the center or download the contribution form and mail it to Zanesville Art Center, 620 Military Road, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.
